ROCK FALLS RACEWAY

Dorn Gets It Done

Since the age of 8, ‘Fastlane’ Logan Dorn has been a competitor.  In the 2023 Rock Falls Raceway, he became a champion.

Dorn, out of Isanti MN, competes in the Jr Dragster Intermediate category.  Through the first four races of the season, Dorn found himself in a tight three way race for the title—with all three competitors separated by only two rounds of racing.  However, Dorn turned up the heat, notching three race wins in the next four events to claim the title.

The last four years of competing for Logan have been a great learning experience, but with that came some unexpected expertise out the gate! “On my very first licensing pass, I had a .005 reaction time! I was so excited! Then the very next weekend, I had a perfect .000 reaction time in the first round of eliminations!” said Dorn.  Being a third generation racer, his dad and grandfather have passed along their knowledge to the next generation of Dorn Family Racing.

While racing is the priority at the track, Logan expressed his joy of hanging out with friends and family at the track.  “When we put our helmets on, it’s time to race.  And we race as hard as we can against each other! But once the helmets come off, it’s back to hanging out and having fun.  It’s great when my grandparents and aunts and uncles come to watch me race!”

Logan’s favorite event of the season was a tie.  At the last event of the season, Dorn’s car dynamite, only varying by .014 of a second over 19 passes! Additionally, he won the race that was on his birthday—who doesn’t love that!?

While Logan has a lot of time to grow up still, he’s relishing being a fierce Jr Dragster competitor.  Dorn has a passion and respect for law enforcement, showcased through his beautiful dragster, as well as nursing and helping people like his mother does.  Outside of turning on win lights, Dorn enjoys fishing, archery, snowmobiling, and helping his dad on cars. Overall, it’s crystal clear that Dorn has a bright future ahead no matter his pathway.

Logan wanted to thank his great sponsors in Mark Hauge with Nitro Lubricants, as well as Nate Bremer who builds their racing engines.  Dorn also thanked his entire family for supporting his dream in racing; his mom and dad for keeping him calm and focused, as well as his extended family for cheering him on through the years.  “Racing is a family sport through and through and to have all the support and love from them watching me race really means a lot.” Dorn declared.

Congratulations to Logan Dorn, your 2023 Rock Falls Raceway Jr Intermediate Track Champion!
