Lindstrom MN’s Ellie Lindberg is no stranger to success. The 2023 NHRA West Central Division 5 Jr Street Champion added another two notches to her impressive resume by claiming the Jr Advanced and Jr Street season championships this year.
While only claiming one victory across two finals in Jr Advanced, Ellie Lindberg earned consistent round wins at the majority of events to claim victory over second place Skylar Bremer. In Jr Street, Lindberg leaped into the championship by going 13-0 at the final three events to earn the number 1 spot over Tyler Burkholder. All told, Lindberg earned four victories in six final rounds and 36 round wins to claim both championships. When asked about her favorite moment from the season, Lindberg said “I was going to say the best part of the season was doubling up at the Summit Racing Equipment Jr Drag Racing League Challenge event and winning the Wally in both classes. Then, at the Awards Ceremony when it was announced I had been voted as the Jr Driver of the Year, I was speechless. To be recognized by my peers for my success made me proud for the friends and family that we’ve made at the dragstrip”.
Outside of winning at the track, Ellie enjoys reading books and skiing on the slopes with her family. Additionally, she is renowned at her high school for the advancements within the school’s robotics team! She also mentioned how fun it is to explain to her classmates about her ‘other job’ at the track, as so many of them are not familiar with drag racing
Ellie wanted to thank her mom, dad, big brother Joe, as well as the Weiler and McDonough families for being a part of her ‘bonus’ families at the track. Additionally, she thanked Nic Woods Racing, Chicks on Slicks, CleanShot Intakes, North Brand Synthetics, and JR Race Cars for supporting her efforts in her racing career.
